Named in the early 1900’s after a Scottish Castle, Dundarave was once a residential outpost for Vancouver with its water’s edge aligned with summer cottages. Located in between Ambleside and West Bay, Dundarave still has the quaint village charm which attracts a number of visitors throughout the year. Dundarave Village features numerous restaurants and coffee shop patios, specialty shops and art galleries which are set along a central 1 block boulevard with trees and gardens. Used as the original ferry boat landing for loggers and weekend adventurers, Dundarave Pier still remains from long ago and is situated at the start of the famous Centennial Seawalk. Next to the Pier is Dundarave Park which features a 50 m sandy beach, playground and grassy areas perfect for afternoon picnics. Seasonal family events in Dundarave community including the Festival of Lights, The Taste of Dundarave, and the annual Porsche show on Father’s Day.
